Kathleen Hendley, 88, of Nashville, died Sunday, December 1, 2019, at SGMC in Valdosta.
She was born December 5, 1930, in Berrien County to the late David Jackson Skinner and the late Nettie Akridge Skinner. She was a homemaker and former para-pro with the Berrien County Board of Education. She was a member of Riverside Missionary Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for 30 years. She enjoyed knitting, cooking and caring for her yard flowers. She was the widow of Archie Hilton Hendley, Jr and was also preceded in death by a sister: Pauline Riel and 4 brothers: William Skinner, Jack Skinner, George Skinner, and Albert Skinner.
She is survived by her daughter: Teresa (David) Bishop of Monroe, 2 sons: Archie (Marcia) Hendley of Nashville and Roger (Janet) Hendley of Nashville; sister: Eloise Nash of Lilburn; brother: Charlie (Mary) Skinner of Macon; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Skinner, Beth Skinner and Louise Skinner.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 1 p.m. in the Riverside Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Robbie Peay officiating. Visitation was held Tuesday at the church from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. Interment followed in the Riverside Cemetery.
